How I found it
Nested Hyprland session, bos-settings tiled next to kitty windows (dwindle). At a 469x578 tile the webview kept laying out at its 960px minimum: the sidebar took half the tile and every control on the page (sliders, switches, Save) was off the right edge with no horizontal scroll. At 938x578 the layout fits.
Confidence
High. Reproduced with screenshots.
Explanation
tauri.conf.jsonsetsminWidth: 960, minHeight: 640. Floating windows respect it, but a tiling compositor ignores min-size hints, so the surface can be any size. The frontend has no responsive breakpoints: the 230px sidebar is fixed and the content column has a min width, so below ~960px content is cut off rather than reflowing.Expected: below ~900px collapse the sidebar into an icon rail or a top menu, and let the content column shrink to one column; never clip controls. Actual: clipped page, no way to reach controls except resizing the tile.
Impact: on BOS (tiling by default), opening Settings beside another window is a normal case.
