Problem
powerlevel10k's upstream says it has very limited support and that most bugs won't be fixed. BOS packages it itself (
packaging/powerlevel10k) and ships it as the default prompt.Fix
Consider starship (in the official repos, themable from the pywal palette), or document that BOS pins p10k knowingly. Low urgency.
Source: BOS v0.6.2 source review (tag dated 2026-09-19).
Implementation did not start before the assigned agent hit its usage limit. No local worktree, branch, or PR was created. Returning this issue to TODO until an implementer is available.
PR #67: #67
The README and PKGBUILD now record that BOS knowingly retains the pinned Powerlevel10k default despite limited upstream maintenance, and prompt maintainers to reassess before changing the pin. Verified with
git diff --check.Reviewed, looks ready to merge.
Acceptance criteria: document that BOS knowingly retains its pinned Powerlevel10k package as the shipped default despite limited upstream maintenance, and remind maintainers to reassess support before changing the pin or selecting a replacement. README.md:40-43 and packaging/powerlevel10k/PKGBUILD:2-4 cover both points. The wording accurately reflects the upstream README's limited-support notice and statement that most bugs will go unfixed. The change is limited to documentation comments and does not alter the package pin or build behavior.
The powerlevel10k package workflow is successful on PR head
70c110a5f3, and PR #67 is mergeable. No tests beyond the package workflow are needed for this documentation-only change. I am leaving the merge to the maintainer because BOS is on the release train.Independent review passed and PR #67 CI succeeded. PR #67 merged as
5f15a4fce8e703b01f01fc28273e91794da847f6; marking the implementation and PR card DONE.
