Problem
The live
liveuserholds UID 1000 while Calamares creates the real account, so the real account becomes 1001 (see thepost-install.shcomments, lines 34-40). That's cosmetic, but it breaks assumptions in some tools and shared-folder setups.Fix
Give
liveusera UID outside the normal range (e.g. 999 or 60000+) in the live setup script, so Calamares creates the real user as 1000. Then simplify theMAIN_USERdetection.Acceptance
id -ufor the installed user returns 1000.Source: BOS v0.6.2 source review (tag dated 2026-09-19); line numbers refer to that tree. Read AGENTS.md first. One issue per branch/PR. Verify with a VM install. Add a CHANGELOG
[Unreleased]entry.#73
Live setup assigns UID 60001, above Arch UID_MAX 60000, leaving 1000 available for the installed account. Post-install selects UID1000 directly. Shell syntax/diff checks pass. Headless installer acceptance and real user allocation checks remain outstanding and coordinated with acceptance worker; no host accounts or personal files changed.
Independent source review PASS at
0b74fe66e2. Live setup assigns UID 60001 above Arch UID_MAX 60000 and post-install locates UID 1000 after deleting liveuser. Both modified shell scripts parse, changelog is present and diff check passes. No CI statuses are configured. Actual Calamares allocation and installed id -u still require the headless installer acceptance run; this review does not claim that check occurred. PR: #73
