Follow-up to ECO-71, which is a verified local prototype/install, not a distributed release. Read ECO-71's current agent handoff before changing code or live state.

Current local commits: bread-ecosystem feature/session-persistence at 12fe07b and breadbar fix/bar-62-hidden-session-workspaces at 3a3906b. Both are committed in isolated ~/.worktrees directories, with no push/PR/merge/release performed by the implementation task. The bar branch contains existing dependency/fixture/CI ancestry; inspect and choose an appropriate PR/cherry-pick base rather than bundling unrelated work.

Remaining delivery work:

  • Review and deliver the Rust CLI/watcher and breadbar's reserved-workspace filter together. BAR-62 prevents hidden terminals from expanding the bar with special:bread-UUID entries.
  • Add the package, install behavior, shortcuts and session-scoped autostart to managed BOS/bakery distribution, following normal repository and release procedures. Current home/root binary installs are local and may be replaced by updates.
  • Preserve private state, installer idempotence/conflict checks, exact compositor isolation, watcher exclusion and restore duplicate prevention.
  • Coordinate a real machine reboot with the user. Verify persisted hidden/shown status, directories, tabs/panes, geometry, no duplicates and one watcher after login. The existing headless compositor-restart tests are not proof of physical reboot or real Claude/Codex resume.
  • Validate exact conversation resume separately without guessing conversation IDs. Record evidence and any remaining monitor-layout limitations.

Acceptance: changes are delivered through the intended managed installation path, bar integration survives package updates, and a documented controlled reboot passes without losing the user's kept records. Keep broader browser/editor/media adapters, exact process-memory restoration and archive retention outside this delivery task unless separately scoped.

Existing evidence: ~/.local/state/bread-session-validation/20261011-1345/result.json (12 integration checks, 4 unit tests), and ~/.local/state/bread-session-validation/bar-62/result.json (bar regression comparison and 4 filter tests).

2026-10-20 local deployment preference: the user asked to disable session resume on their laptop (BOS host bos). Autostart is disabled, keep/show shortcuts removed from persistent config and the live compositor, and the watcher stopped. Binary and saved state remain; open terminals were left running. ECO-71's handoff now starts with this current status. Future delivery/testing must respect this local opt-out and must not silently re-enable the feature on the laptop.
