Found while implementing ROAD-15 in Breadway/breadsearch. Confidence: high, reproduced on pristine breadsearch main at origin/main (18cd529) with pinned bread-ecosystem bread-onnx v0.7.2 / commit
30517f1.cargo build -p breadmillfails becausebread-onnx/src/provider.rs::Provider::to_dispatchreferencesort::ep::{MIGraphX, CUDA, OpenVINO, Vitis}unconditionally, while breadmill deliberately enables thoseortfeatures only through optional backend features. This makes the shared crate fail to compile for a valid CPU-only consumer build. The documented--features fullworks around, but does not fix the consumer/default-feature regression. Fix should feature-gate provider construction and maintain CPU fallback semantics, with coverage for no-provider and each provider feature combination. ROAD-15 is blocked pending this prerequisite.
