Problem
The site's "What BOS is honest about" section doesn't mention:
Fix
Add these to the Limits section, and to
docs/hardware.mdwhere relevant.Source: BOS v0.6.2 source review (tag dated 2026-09-19).
Opened the BOS hardware documentation portion as PR #57.
docs/hardware.mdnow records x86-64 and T2 Mac constraints, the lack of a supported Windows dual-boot setup, and the default zram-only swap configuration.git diff --checkpasses.The separate site update, including the fixed-dark-theme and model-assisted privacy notes, is still blocked: the clean site checkout has no Forgejo remote, and breadboard has no mapped site repository. The breadpad and breadsearch features use local inference; breadpad's optional Ollama endpoint is local, and breadsearch downloads its embedding model locally. I have not published or deployed a site edit. Leaving BOS-49 in TODO until the site destination is resolved.
I checked the site target in this environment.
~/Projects/bos-siteis absent, and the Breadboard repo mapping contains no site repository, so there is no available tracked checkout or Forgejo remote where I can prepare a reviewable site change. The existing PR #57 covers onlydocs/hardware.md; it does not include the site edits. Leaving BOS-49 in TODO until the site repository is available or mapped.Website implementation is ready at Breadway/bos-site#2, stacked on the source import in site PR #1. Added the five requested limits: disk installation, Mac support, no default hibernation, fixed dark desktop and local inference/privacy boundaries. Explicitly distinguished the website light toggle from the desktop and described configured remote Ollama and calendar sync exceptions. Verified against source documentation and defaults, parsed HTML text assertions, bash -n deploy.sh and git diff --check. BOS hardware documentation is already merged via PR #57. No deployment or personal config changes.
Website portion merged via Breadway/bos-site PR #2 (landed alongside #1, #3, #4).
The "What BOS is honest about" limits section now covers whole-disk-only install (no supported Windows dual-boot, no partition shrinking), Apple Silicon and T2 Mac limits (external boot plus a patched kernel not included in the ISO), zram-only swap with no hibernation, a fixed dark desktop base (and a note that the site's own light toggle only affects the website), and that breadpad/breadsearch inference runs locally by default unless a remote Ollama endpoint or calendar sync is configured.
I verified each claim against
docs/hardware.mdon BOS main, the installer config (userSwapChoices: none), and the merged breadpad/breadsearch defaults. The BOS documentation portion (BOS-57) was already merged. This clears BOS-49.
