Delete branch "fix/bos-49-hardware-limitations"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
This PR documents BOS hardware and install constraints in
docs/hardware.md: x86-64 compatibility, T2 Mac requirements, the lack of a supported Windows dual-boot setup, and the default zram-only swap configuration.Verified with
git diff --check.This covers the BOS repository documentation portion of BOS-49. The separate site update is not included because its local checkout has no Forgejo remote and no mapped site repository is available. BOS-49 remains open for that site change.
This is the PR card for existing PR #57, which covers the BOS repository documentation portion of BOS-49. The separate site copy is blocked because there is no site repository mapped or remote available. Parent BOS-49 is in TODO.
Content review passes for the scoped
docs/hardware.mdchange. Acceptance criteria map to: 1. x86-64 image and Apple Silicon boot limitation, lines 29-32; 2. T2 external boot and patched keyboard/trackpad kernel requirements, lines 29-32; 3. no supported Windows dual-boot and whole-disk install, lines 34-36; 4. compressed zram swap only by default and no disk-backed hibernation swap, lines 38-40. These statements match the current BOS README and installer description. No tests are applicable to this documentation-only diff. The PR is mergeable, but Forgejo reports no CI status for its head. The local checkout has unrelated dirty BOS-26 work and fetch is blocked by SSH config permissions, so I did not use it to run
git diff --check. BOS is release-sensitive, so I am leaving the merge to the user. The site portion remains outside this PR; BOS-49 stays in TODO for that work.Independent review passed, and PR #57 merged as
f24d90d3efe16c76d35dc25aee8f9bceb25a332f. Marking this documentation PR card DONE. Parent BOS-49 remains TODO for its separate site-only update.
