Delete branch "fix/ci-container-user-passwd"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
The build container runs as the numeric host uid:gid, which has no /etc/passwd entry inside the image, so anything that looks up the current user fails. dbus-daemon refuses every connection, which made breadcrumbs' twelve fake-NetworkManager tests fail on every run. Mounts the host's /etc/passwd and /etc/group read-only. Verified with the daemon directly and with breadcrumbs' full cargo test suite through this script. Follow-up to ECO-38.
The build container runs as the numeric host uid:gid so files it writes stay owned by the invoking user, but that uid has no /etc/passwd entry inside the image. Anything that looks up the current user then fails. dbus-daemon refuses every connection ("Could not get password database information for UID of current process"), which made breadcrumbs' twelve fake-NetworkManager tests fail on every run while the rest passed. Mount the host's /etc/passwd and /etc/group read-only into the container. Verified: the daemon answers normally with the mounts, and breadcrumbs' full cargo test suite passes through this script. Follow-up to ECO-38.
